Time in Ukraine is defined as UTC+02:00 and in summer as UTC+03:00
Customs regime
A tourist can import into the country duty-free:
- up to 200 cigarettes or 200 g of tobacco,
- up to 5 liters of beer,
- up to 2 liters of strong alcoholic beverages,
- up to 2 liters of wine.
Personal jewels are subject to mandatory declaration. The export of works of art, historical and cultural values requires permission. The export of objects subject to state subsidies is prohibited; objects of industrial designation; precious metals, stones and products from them. Such categories of goods should be considered by special services. The territory of Ukraine is allowed to import foreign currency in the amount of up to $ 1000, subject to oral declaration. Foreign currency of up to $ 10,000 must be declared in writing.
Opening hours of shops, banks, museums
The working hours of banks: from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 17.00. In large cities and resort areas banks and exchange offices are open until 19.00. Shopping areas mostly work daily till 21:00

To call the fire service should dial 101, police – 102, ambulance – 103. Telephone network help desk is available by phone 107.
Money, currency exchange
Currency exchange can be made in exchange offices, as well as in banks. You can pay by card at the most of the locations – hotels, museums, restaurants, cafes, shops, bars and etc. You can pay only in national currency in Ukraine – UAH.
Transport
In Ukraine a very common rail service. The network of railways covers almost the whole country. Public transport in the cities is represented by buses and trolleybuses. In somecities there are trams. Underground works in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro. You can also take a taxi. Cost of an average single trip around the city by taxi is up to 7 euro. Uber, Bolt, Uklon and some other online taxi services work in most cities.
Car rent
To rent a car you must be over 21 years old, have a driving license with English transliteration, and a credit card. Usualy among car rent cost you will be charged a deposit payment 400 – 600 USD.
Tips
Tips are preferable but not obligatory, the amount depends on you. In restaurants 5-10% tip of the total bill is generally accepted in case the tips are not included in the amount.
Electricity
The voltage in the network is 230V, the frequency of the current is 50HZ. Sockets two-pin, the adapter is not required.
